Day 2of3 schools sailing
/
The group excelled again today, after mastering sailing round a triangular course we moved onto capsizing and using the trapeze on the larger Omega sailing dinghy.
Give us s call to find out how we can get your school, class or group on the water.
We use a mix of Topaz and Omega dinghies because they are simply the only boats that allow us to deliver safe courses with a rapid learning curve.
In a typical GoSailing day we get a group of upto 30 happily sailing back and forth as well as playing some games.
Whilst teaching sailing or windsurfing we also pass on important watersafety messages.
Here Euan checks his rig before going to learn the harness - the best way to save a windsurfers arms!
Here we are on just day 1 and allready all 26 sailors are heading upwind nicely.
Never mind. As a multi watersport centre it's easy for us to switch activities when needed.
Today our youth windsurfers opted for paddleboarding in the ocean.
Alex ran an intro session/ warm up before we loaded the boards onto a 6.5m stabicraft. 15mins later we where out at 'A' beacon 1 mile out to sea, with a decent swell running the paddling was more challenging and enjoyable.
Thankfully the rain has passed leaving a clear warm day for this local school to try sailing most of the children sailed with us last year so will quickly get up and going today.
The topaz boats are ideal as they can sail in pairs sharing the experience and learning together.
