It might be the last day with summer time but summer is far from over :)
Today a mix of ages and abilities are out enjoying the Harbour. In the photo 2 German exchange students step up from sailing the Topaz singlehanded and into the bigger more powerful Omega dinghy made by Topper. Our instructors are never far away in the Red safety boat.
The group excelled again today, after mastering sailing round a triangular course we moved onto capsizing and using the trapeze on the larger Omega sailing dinghy.

We use a mix of Topaz and Omega dinghies because they are simply the only boats that allow us to deliver safe courses with a rapid learning curve.
In a typical GoSailing day we get a group of upto 30 happily sailing back and forth as well as playing some games.
Whilst teaching sailing or windsurfing we also pass on important watersafety messages.
With the popularity of a sunny weekend on Waiheke plus the beach horse races the ferry was chockers, the guys did some great juggling to get us on even if I did have to climb out the rear sliding door!
I'm glad we put the Topaz on the roof and not the usual Elements Watersports trailer of boats.
Oneroa beach gas been a great venue for day one of this weekends YNZ sailing instructor course on Waiheke Island, New Zealand.
The mixed group from the local Sailing Club and Sea Scouts are all set to get more locals out on the water. If you are young or old and want to be involved just drop me a line and il out you in touch with both groups.
Extra pairs of hands are always welcome so if you have a background in sailing or small powerboats and have some spare time to enjoy being on the water then you will be very welcome.
Well done to all the Cadet Officers who have successfully passed the YNZ instructor course.

It was great to see you adapting Crown sailing skills to the Topaz.
