Elements Watersports Dinghy, Windsurf and Paddleboard Hire is the perfect way to get back out onto the water, practise and improve the skills you’ve learnt during your lessons or simply enjoy watersports without the expense of buying, owning, insuring, maintaining and storing your own kit.
Our Equipment Hire options offer you the ability to improve your current skills before you buy, limiting expensive mistakes when choosing the right equipment for your skill level and goals.
And our staff are available to talk to regarding the best equipment choices for you when you’re ready to buy your own gear.
Hassle Free Watersports
All our Hire Equipment is well maintained and if you’re short on time we will have your kit rigged and ready to go for you, so no matter if you want a quick Lunchtime Blast or Sail After Work we can get you on the water within moments of you arriving with us.
All our Equipment Hire options come complete with all the Equipment and Clothing you need to get on the water and simply enjoy. Plus you will receive supervision from our professionally qualified friendly staff who will help build your confidence, offer safety cover and assistance to rig and launch during your session with us.
We will also help you select the right kit for the weather conditions on the day and your current skill level, offer advice and handy hints plus a sailing area for your hire so you get the very best out of your time on the water with us.
Conditions of Hire and Level of Competency
To hire any of our equipment you need to be competent in its use in the conditions on the day.
Minimum requirements
- To Hire our equipment you need to have achieved either, Elements Ready to Rent level of competency (our instructors will let you know after your lessons with us when you have achieved this level) for the equipment you want to hire, Or have a recognised certificate of achievement such as the RYA Start Windsurfing, RYA Basic Skills in Dinghy Sailing or Yachting NZ level 2 or above.
- If you don’t have any certificates and haven’t been on the water with us before but believe you have the necessary skills to Hire our Equipment then please call us. We will spend some time getting to know your current Watersports experience and ability and discuss your current skill level.
- Your first hire with us will be a short assessment of your skills plus a familiarisation of our equipment so we can ensure your safety and enjoyment whilst you are with us.
Complete beginners will need to do a course with us to be able to hire our equipment.

Windsurf Hire Options
For those that are of Intermediate and Advanced skill level we have a range of JP boards from 180L to 95L and sails from 4.5 to 6.9m.

Dinghy Hire Options Topper The World’s Most Versatile Sailing Dinghies
We have a range of boats for hire, from the smaller Topaz Single Hander, ideal for the novice and our youth sailors to the larger Topaz Omega for the more experienced and families, or groups that wish to hire. The Topaz is the most versatile sailing system ever, delivering versatility without compromise, making them the ideal boat to Learn to Sail on or escape with friends and family.
Topaz Suitable for up to 2 or a great Adult Single Hander.
A simple, easy to Sail one or two person dinghy.
Ideal for practising and building confidence the Topaz is easy to sail, stable and comfortable yet still offers the excitement and thrills for more experienced sailors. Jib optional for this boat.

Topaz Omega Suitable for 2 – 5 people
The Topaz Omega is a fantastic multi purpose boat, offering performance, options of spinnaker or simply a great family sailing boat for destination sails.
She’s the ultimate family day sailor for cruising but is equally happy taking you for a fast fun filled sail with gennaker and trapeze. A fast fun sail or relaxing family cruise – you choose.

Paddleboard Hire
Stand Up Paddleboarding is the perfect activity for a no-wind or light wind day, just for fun with family and friends or as part of your fitness program.
We have a range of Red Air inflatable SUPs for Hire, to Demo or to Buy.
These boards give you the stability and confidence to paddle standing up and the deck is soft and comfortable underfoot too. Our stand up paddleboards can be hired on an hourly basis and our rental includes all your equipment, clothing, buoyancy aids and safety cover.
