RYA Powerboat Training courses will help make you a proficient and confident Powerboat driver.  Whether you want to drive small rhibs or sports boats for fishing, waterskiing or wakeboarding, or if you want to become a Support Boat Driver for Safety Cover at your local Sailing or Rowing club.

If you're going overseas then we can also provide you with training for your ICC certificate allowing you to hire boats abroad.

Depending on your current experience you can choose which level you join, Level 2 being the most popular.

All our RYA Powerboat Training courses are run on demand and are available Nationwide 7 days a week.

RYA Powerboat Training is provided for adults, however we can provide training for children aged 14-16 years who will then be issued with an endorsed certificate.

RYA Powerboat Direct Assessments    4 Hours  

Catering for experienced powerboat operators who require an internationally recognised maritime certificate of competence for Part 35 or their ICC certificate, the International Certificate for Operators of Pleasure Craft to charter powerboats overseas.

Pre-requisites:  the candidate will have good powerboat handling experience and be able to demonstrate their knowledge and practical application during this exam.     Book Now

A course aimed at those who currently possess the RYA Powerboat Level 2 and who want to provide Safety Cover to fleets of dinghies windsurfers paddleboarders kitesurfers and or kayaks

RYA Personal Watercraft Proficiency Course     1 Day

Whether you need a certificate to drive PW commercially in New Zealand or you are going on holiday and want to rent a PWC or even buy your own machine the RYA PWC course will give you the skills you need to enjoy these fast and exciting machines.  This course is designed for the complete beginner through to experienced riders and is an Internationally recognised certificate.

This course can be run in conjunction with your RYA Powerboat level 2 course over two longer days saving you time and money

Shorebased Theory Courses

Theory courses provide a wonderful compliment to practical boat training and Elements Watersports is able to deliver to you a range of Shorebased courses and exams.  Choose to learn in the classroom with others, At your local sailing or rowing club, At home with a homestudy pack and tutor mentoring or in conjunction with an RYA Practical Course.

Boatmaster

A comprehensive course for boaties with some existing practical knowledge and experience.  

Marine VHF Radio

The Marine VHF Radio Operator assessment is only recognised within New Zealand.

This is the minimum requirement for all users of Marine VHF Radio

Maritime Restricted Operators Certificate  

The Maritime Restricted Radio Operator assessment is recognised worldwide.

The minimum requirement for commercial operators, SRL candidates and users of MF/HF (SSB) radio    

GPS Operator

An advanced course to enable safe navigation and use of GPS.    

Inboard Engine Maintenance

A comprehensive course covering diesel inboard care, maintenance, and trouble-shooting.    

Outboard Engine Maintenance

Includes: Outboard Engine Maintenance Manual, Study Guide, and Assessment Pack.
